Route 66 Park, a 148-acre site located on Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City, draws on the theme of the historic “Mother Road,” which runs through Oklahoma City a short distance from the park. Visitors enjoy a festival plaza with a colorful graphic map of Route 66 containing 34 medallions of important landmarks along the historic route, and signs with historic information to educate visitors.

The plaza also includes an amphitheater and observation tower, a regional playground with shade structures and picnic facilities, and three separate ponds with trails, bridges, boardwalks and wetland interpretive gardens.
