Working in conjunction with CH2M Hill on a mitigation project for the Corps of Engineers, PDG provided landscape architecture services for Stone Bluff Ranch, a property of more than 500 acres featuring massive rock outcroppings, hay meadows and pockets of native blackjack oak forest. PDG connected this diverse landscape palette with a four-mile trail system weaving through and around bluff-side caverns, sand banks, a bald eagle nesting area, and more.
PDG also designed several points of interest linking sections of the trail: a 40-foot bridge bisecting areas of Riparian Habitat preservation; a multi-story lake house cabin with a fireman’s pole, trap door & ladder and fishing outlook; and a rustic gazebo and fire pit surrounded by a stone seat wall at the foot of the Arkansas River.
