Bixby’s Downtown Streetscape Project is the first project funded from the Bixby Vision sales tax extension to fund Downtown River Corridor Revitalization efforts. PDG directed the design team which consisted of CEC and Cyntergy. The project continues with the original Downtown Vision Project from 2006, with the revitalization efforts focused on wayfinding, branding, street improvements, and other placemaking strategies to make downtown more inviting, thus increasing economic development for the Downtown River Corridor. The project also included major utility renovations, that included water line additions and renovations, storm sewer additions and relocations, relocating overhead power underground, and others. This project was completed in 2021 and since its completion, the City is now expecting the largest development in Downtown Bixby’s history, a mixed-use 4-story building housing luxury apartments, retail space and parking.
